Sulfamic acid

Aminosulfonic acid can be used to remove blockages in oil layers and enhance their permeability. By injecting an aminosulfonic acid solution into carbonate rock oil-producing formations, as it readily reacts with the rock, it prevents the deposition of reaction-generated salts, yet doubles oil production. In the United States, a solution containing 48.5% potassium hydroxyacetate, 3.4% aminosulfonic acid, and 0.1-3% wetting agent is used to clean gypsum scale layers in oil well casings, with a treatment time of approximately 30 hours.
